Apply today for our RN Cardiac Stepdown opportunity.Job Summary and QualificationsThe Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.What you will do in this role:
  • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
  • Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
  • Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.What qualifications you will need:
    • Licensure as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.
    • Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
    • Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
    • Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
    • Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skillsHCA Florida Fawcett Hospital is a 237 bed acute care hospital.
